Start Your Legacy
Planned gifts are extraordinary ways for alumni or friends of Nicholls to make substantial gifts while benefiting from the income during their lifetime. These gifts usually provide favorable tax deductions and often reduce capital gains taxes on appreciated securities.
These gifts support the university's long-term sustainability, funding scholarships, faculty professorships, and campus priorities that state funds may not cover. It is because of your generosity that our regional university continues to thrive and attract talented students who become our region’s future nurses, teachers, accountants, doctors, chefs and business leaders.
We look forward to working with you to discuss creative ways to give and how your estate gift can leave a lasting legacy and help generations of Colonels to come.

Getting Started
There are many planned gifts that won’t affect your existing financial resources, but will have a significant impact on Nicholls State University Foundation. Give to the institution you care so much about, while maintaining control and flexibility.

Make a Bequest
A bequest is a gift provision in your will or revocable living trust. All assets, including cash, securities, real estate, and tangible personal property, may be transferred to Nicholls State University Foundation at the end of your life.

The Oaks Society
The Oaks Society of Nicholls State University Foundation comprises alumni, parents, faculty and friends who have made a planned gift to Nicholls State University Foundation or the closely related Nicholls State University Foundation.
